Estimation of Oxygen Diffusing Conductance in Different Dissection Portion of the Placental Cotyledon of Passive Smoking Mothers

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2016.531
Synopsis:
This study estimated the amount oxygen that can diffuse across the placenta of the passive, smoking mothers in an Indo-Asian population. There was no significant difference in the total oxygen-diffusing conductance in the placenta of the passive smokers. However, there was an adaptive mechanism taking place in the foetal part of the placenta.
