This analysis of the prevalence of obesity, hypertension and diabetes is a critical aspect for the health care of the Aruban population. This study is a point prevalence assessment of these factors in a small subset of the population, hotel workers at the Hyatt.
The vast majority of available evidence on the efficacy, effectiveness and safety of hydroxyurea in childhood sickle cell anaemia (SCA) is mostly from high-income countries. The conclusions drawn from this study would be useful in guiding hydroxyurea use in other less developed countries with limited resources.

This study evaluated the antibacterial activity of Glycyrrhiza glabra roots extract was evaluated against several food-borne bacterial pathogens. Results show that the aqueous extract was more effective than the others; while, among the tested bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were the most sensitive and the most resistant, respectively.

This study was aimed to determine the possible therapeutic effects of tadalafil, a specific PDE5 inhibitor, on renal fibrosis induced by unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO). Our results suggested that tadalafil treatment ameliorated renal fibrosis by reducing TGF-β expression and might have important clinical relevance since tadalafil is currently used clinically to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension.
