Dr. Marvadeen Singh-Wilmot (Senior Lecturer, Department of Chemistry) serves as a member of the 5-person IUPAC task group known as CEDEI, which stands for the Committee on Ethics, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This task group has recently secured funding from IUPAC to undertake a project titled "Guiding Principles for the Responsible Practice of Chemistry." The primary objective of this project is to develop a set of guiding principles that will serve as a solid foundation for encouraging transparency, responsibility, and ethical conduct within the field of chemistry. These principles will align with IUPAC's strategic plan and mission, which are dedicated to advancing the global understanding, practice, and application of chemical sciences for the betterment of humanity and the environment, both in the present and for future generations.
