CMS host Sustainable Blue Economies Workshop

On September 22, 2023, The Faculty of Sciences and Technology through the Centre for Marine Sciences (CMS) hosted an International Workshop on “Sustainable Blue Economies in Jamaica and the Caribbean: Challenges and International Partnerships”.  Activity was achieved through partnerships with the Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and the New Leaf Power and Conservations Ltd, and hosted approximately fifty (50) participants including students, staff, NGOs, government agencies, financial institutes and other professionals.  After the workshop GoldenEye Resort and Foundation and the Oracabessa Bay Fish Sanctuary hosted approximately 20 participants for an eco-tour and boat excursion for further capacity building on sustainable tourism and fisheries.
