On behalf of the Faculty of Science and Technology at The UWI, Mona Campus, I salute our hardworking colleagues on this Technical and Service Staff Day 2022. These categories of staff serve unreservedly, often without fanfare and in the background, in our classrooms, laboratories, and offices, ensuring the daily operations of our faculty.  On this last Thursday of November, we pause to acknowledge their contributions to making the Faculty of Science and Technology the “go to place for Science – Education, Training, Research and Solutions.” We are proud of the excellence in service they offer, and we are happy to acknowledge it.

This year, we especially single out our long serving Technical and Service staff, the high achievers amongst them who featured at the just concluded UWI graduation ceremonies, and the unsung heroes selected by their peers. In addition to the gestures of appreciation from each Department, the faculty will collectively pause to acknowledge our colleagues in Science Lecture Theatre 3 at 1:00pm. We invite all Technical and Service staff and others to hear from our Campus Principal, Registrar, Faculty Management Team, and representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security who will present on the National Insurance Scheme. Light refreshments will be served, and we will also have some fun with prizes and surprizes.

We hail the contributions of our Technical and Service staff team who are amongst the best at our university.
