Dr. Adrienne Williams Wins Best Overall Poster Presentation at the 16th National Health Research Conference

Dr. Adrienne Williams, Lecturer, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, The University of the West Indies, Mona was awarded the Best Overall Poster Presentation at the 16th National Health Research Conference, held from February 4–6, 2026. The conference brought together researchers, academics, and health professionals to share findings and engage in discussions on key public health issues affecting Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
 
During the conference, two poster presentations highlighting important environmental health research were showcased. The first, titled “Indoor Radon Concentration and Estimation of Annual Effective Dose in Kingston and St. Andrew, Jamaica,” was presented by postgraduate student Ms. Shanique Lindo and co-authored by Dr. Adrienne Williams.
 
The second poster, “Air Quality in Jamaica’s Main Urban Areas from 2010–2023,” was presented by Dr. Adrienne Williams and co-authored by Dr. W. Mullings. 
 
The Faculty congratulates, Dr. Williams on her achievement and wishes continued success with her research endeavours.
