Meet Chantal Tracey, an exemplary alumna of the Faculty of Science and Technology, who is making a notable impact in the field of Chemistry and Materials Science. After graduating with a BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry in 2013, Chantal went on to earn an MSc in Materials Science (Physics) with top honors, followed by a PhD in Chemistry/Materials Science from ITMO University in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Currently, Chantal is working as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at ITMO in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Her research focuses on developing advanced functional materials for applications in the biomedical, food, and energy sectors. As a supervisor, she mentors three Master's and two Bachelor's students, and is also responsible for teaching Advanced Functional Materials and Additive Manufacturing courses to Master's students.
On January 10, 2025, Chantal visited the Department of Chemistry at The UWI Mona to advance her research and delivered a presentation on ''Energy Lab x ITMO: An Introduction."
Chantal's achievements and commitment to her field not only inspire her students and peers but also demonstrate The FST-UWI's legacy of providing a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that enable its graduates to thrive globally.
