On August 12, 2020, Dr. Joyelle Ckarke, who obtained her PhD in geography in 2013 from the Dept. of Geography and Geology, was sworn in as a senator of St. Kitts and Nevis. Dr. Clarke is known in the region and in her home country as a strong stalwart, youth activist, and environmental advocate. For her PhD, Senator Dr. Clarke explored issues related to Land and Livelihood in St. Kitts. The Faculty is proud of her latest achievement.
