Full House At Free Public Lecture on Plastics Ban

The Science For Today Free Public Lecture Series resumed this semester highlighting the recent ban on single-use plastic scandal bags at or below 24" x 24" inches and 0.03 mm (1.2 mils); and plastic drinking straws, as of January 1, 2019.  Issues concerning the global and national ban on plastics, spatial patterns used to infomr the ban, the effect of plastics on the environment and brief notes on the nature of plastics were addressed to a packed audience at the Science Lecture Room 1 in the Faculty of Science and Technology, UWI Mona.

The next lecture in the Science For Today series takes place on February 28 and it is entitled "Minimizing Mosquito Mayhem: Science Supporting Effective Control" hosted by the Department of Life Sciences, NPI and the ZAP Unit.
