Jamaica is the first country in the English speaking Caribbean to establish a full regulatory body for radiation protection and safety. The Hazardous Substances Regulatory Authority (HSRA) had a hybrid virtual and live launch on Thursday October 29, 2020 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston. Emeritus Professor Ishenkumbah Kahwa (former Dean FST and former Deputy Principal, The UWI, Mona) is the first Chairman of the new entity. Read more about the launch and the HSRA.
