Six FST students receives Chinese Ambassador's Scholarships

The Faculty joins in celebrating the achievements of six undergrads who were awarded the Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship. The recipients were:

  • Shanelle Allen (Biochemistry)
  • Jannel Blake (Software Engineering)
  • Kallela Edwards (Biochemistry)
  • Jariel-Jon Miller (Computer Science)
  • Kharma-Nailah Johnson (Computer Science)
  • Tahjna Myers (Chemistry)

An Awards Ceremony was hosted on December 9, 2022 in the Exhibition Room, Confucius Institution, The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus to highlight their achievements. In attendance was Ambassador Chen Daojiang (Chinese Ambassador), Prof. Ian Boxill (Deputy Principal, The UWI Mona), Dr. Donovan Stanberry (Campus Registrar), Mrs. Shana Hastings-Edwards (Director, Office of Student Financing), Mr. Jason McKenzie (Director, Office of Student Services and Development) and Dr. Daniel Fokum Associate Dean, Undergraduate Matters, Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI, Mona). The Faculty extends gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its tremendous support and wishes the scholarship recipients continued success.
