10 FST Students chosen for inaugural CEMEX Campus Initiative

Ten FST undergraduate and graduate students (Physics and Chemistry) are currently participating with peers from the Faculty of Engineering (The UWI Mona) and UTECH in the inaugural CEMEX Campus initiative. CEMEX Campus is an initiative of Carib Cement and their parent company CEMEX International which exposes enrolled University students to aspects of the Cement Industry. Topics being covered over the six weeks include Health & Safety, Aggregates, Cement Technology, Quality & Sustainability, Supply Chain and Social Impact. FST lecturers have also been invited to join in the virtual lectures. The programme will end with a tour of the Carib Cement plant. CEMEX Campus was officially launched on March 29, 2021. It is intended as an annual opportunity for FST students especially those majoring in Materials Science and Chemistry.
