FST alums elected to lead the JIEP

For 20 years, the Jamaica Institute of Environmental Professionals (JIEP)  - a professional association of qualified persons working in the environmental field – has been making a positive contribution to the Jamaican environmental landscape. Through the hosting of fora, seminars and conferences, and via the provision of technical advice they have sought to fulfil their mission of improving environmental management capacity and practices in Jamaica. JIEP activities are coordinated by a twelve member Council made up of the Executive (President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer) and Council members. The Faculty notes with pride that at the recent AGM of the JIEP held in June 2020, ten FST alum were elected/re-elected to govern the JIEP. Among them is Dr. Sean Townsend (BSc Zoology, PhD Marine Sciences) who was re-elected as President. Other FST alum who will serve on the council for the next two years are Danielle Nembhard (Treasurer), Giselle Hall (Secretary), and Jerome Smith, Le-Anne Roper, Theresa Rodriguez-Moodie, Peter Edwards, Ainsley Henry, Anna Ebanks-Chin and Krishna Desai who will serve as Council Members. Suzanne Shaw (Vice President) and Danellia Aitcheson, (both UWI, St. Augustine alumni) complete the new Executive Council.
