FST Salutes Roger Pulwarty on being selected for the 2022 Presidential Rank Award by President Biden

FST congratulates Roger Pulwarty on being selected by President Biden as a recipient of the 2022 Presidential Rank Award. He has received the Distinguished Award which is the Highest Rank. Hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, he is currently the Senior Scientist at the Physical Sciences Laboratory (PSL) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the USA. He has played a major role in developing and leading innovative research teams and conducting leading-edge interdisciplinary research around the complexities of climate change, including the ways that vulnerable small island developing states (SIDS) in the Caribbean and elsewhere can adapt. Dr. Pulwarty has never forgotten his roots and has been deliberate about researching Caribbean issues and also working with UWI climate scientists at the Climate Studies Group (UWI-Mona) and CERMES (UWI-Cave Hill) where he also helped develop an MSc programme. Dr. Pulwarty was a leading contributor to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to combat climate change. Congrats Dr. Pulwarty!
