Dr. Chinthapalli Bhaskar Rao holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Plant Physiology and Plant Biochemistry from University of Hyderabad (Hyderabad, India). He has extensive research and teaching experience from University of Missouri (Columbia), USA, Pudicherry Central University (Pudicherry, India) and Arba Minch University (Ethiopia) in the field of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology for over more than 17 years. His expertise is in enzyme purification and regulation in C4 crop plants. His current research is focused on understanding the biotechnological aspects of plant based foods and their processing.  He has published more than 22 research papers and book chapters in both international and national journals. He has organized and participated in several conferences in Ethiopia and abroad. Dr. Rao has taught several courses at the  undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Botanical Sciences, Biotechnology, Agronomy, Plant Science, and Horticulture Departments. He also contributed to the development of the Botanical Sciences and Biotechnology Postgraduate Curricula in Department of Biology, Arba Minch University.

Presently, Dr. Rao is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of the West Indies Mona.  The Faculty welcomes Dr. Rao. We look forward to having him as part of the team!
