Jhannel Tomlinson, Ph.D. Candidate in the Dept. of Geography and Geology was invited to participate in United Nations Day activities on October 24, 2019. Jhannel is a Youth Climate Change Activist and a Youth Delegate at the recently held UN Climate Action Summit. Jhannel appeared on Smile Jamaica early in the morning with Ms Mariko Kagoshima, United Nations Resident Coordinator and Agent Sasco to promote the day’s activities. Later in the day, Jhannel received an award recognising her work as a Climate Change Activist and champion of The Sustainable Development Goals.
