Possibilities endless for girls in ICT, says FST Alum Danielle Mullings

As the world observes Girls in ICT Day on Thursday, April 27, 2023, Danielle Mullings (FST Alum) spent part of her day in a session spearheaded by Caricom which focused on encouraging young women to foster careers in science and technology. Danielle, a software engineering major, believes in breaking the mold and wants to inspire young women to pursue careers in information and communication technology (ICT). She sees technology as a conduit for youth empowerment, and her journey in technology encourages other young women to see ICT as a viable career path. Mullings encourages young women to approach a career in technology in their own unique way, as a career in technology does not look one way. Mullings has worked with organizations such as UNICEF and was a member of the international organization Young Tech Expert for Health. She aims to make science and technology more appealing to the everyday man, and her dream job is to become the United Nations' Envoy on Technology. Mullings' male counterparts have been supportive of her and the idea of injecting more feminine energy into the field.
