Description: Dr. Sylvia Mitchell is a senior lecturer and researcher (Ethno-biotechnologist) with over 35 years’ experience in teaching and research. Her research focuses on the development of in vitro propagation protocols, development of biofarming protocol, bioactivity testing of medicinal plants, bamboo project, breadfruit tissue culture, medicinal plant monograph research and development, field studies to maximse yield and bioactives.
Our 7 faculties and 12 professional schools offer more than 200 programmes to some 18,000 graduate, undergraduate and continuing studies students.
The UWI, Mona ranks first in Jamaica among accredited tertiary-level programmes. In 2012, the University was again one of Jamaica’s Top 100 Employers.
