Information Technologist II
Mona Ageing and Wellness Centre

Purpose of Job:
To ensure the effective operation, security, and support of the Centre’s IT systems and platforms by managing user accounts, maintaining infrastructure, and providing technical assistance to students, staff, and programmes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and configure operating systems for students and staff
- Establish and manage user accounts
- Administer the IT platform for all programmes
- Monitor system performance
- Perform “first line” fault detection, diagnosis and resolution
- Execute specified disaster recovery procedures
- Provide online and on-site technical support for the programmes, students and faculty
- Assist in the implementation of system and network administration procedures
- Install, configure and administer the client's workstations
- Establish, manage and maintain user profiles, systems, policies and resources
- Maintain The UWI retiree database
- Establish and maintain the Web page
- Establish and maintain social media activities to engage seniors and provide information to the public
- Implement procedures for data backup and recovery and ensures the availability and integrity of data repositories
- Provide technical support for the procurement of the client’s systems and peripherals
- Provide support to ensure the Centre’s compliance with data protection requirements
Qualification and Experience:
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience
- Proficiency in ICT hardware, software, and network analysis
- Experience in the installation, configuration and user support for Windows, Office Zoom and Microsoft Teams
Skills and Competencies:
- Competent in website design and maintenance
- Ability to provide technical management of the Centre's website
- Ability to provide basic computer skills training for staff
- Ability to perform IT troubleshooting procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with AI technologies
- Ability to take initiative
