Junior Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:

To provide technical expertise to facilitate efficient functioning of the Department’s Laboratories and facilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with all tasks as required
• Assist with the proper disposal of obsolete equipment
• Assist with the proper disposal of waste material from laboratories and associated with research activities as needed
• Assist with opening and closing of laboratory windows and doors as needed
• Assist with deep cleaning activities as a part of the scheduled maintenance
• Assist with the relocation of furniture from within and around the Department
• Assist with the design, installation and maintenance of hardscape structures, walls, steps, paths, curbs and planters, etc.

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to use small equipment and tools
• Ability to conduct deep cleaning activities
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least  five (5) CXC subjects inclusive of English Language
• At least one (1) years relevant work experience
