LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER IN OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical students and postgraduate students in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In addition, he/she and will be responsible for teaching other health care professionals such as nurses and mid wives. The successful candidate will be required to participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, develop innovative research, advice and supervise students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  He/she will also be expected to make a significant contribution to the department's research output, to undertake an appropriate teaching and administrative load, and to take part in outreach activities.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as is a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service and technology application in the classroom. Applicants must possess a genuine interest in helping students and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.  Experience in developing and delivering programmes and courses by distance or online at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels will be an advantage.

Essential Qualifications And Experience:
 Minimum of a DM (O&G), MRCOG or equivalent postgraduate training from a recognized body
 Demonstrated independent scholarly research and publications
 At least three (3) years’ experience of teaching in the related areas at the tertiary level

Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:
 Special skills such as fellowship training and certification in the areas of reproductive endocrinology urogynaecology, gynaecological oncology and maternal fetal medicine
 Certificate in University Teaching
 Evidence of curriculum development (face to face or distant delivery modes)
 Administrative experience within an academic institution
 Evidence of contribution to the public service, public education and policy advocacy
