LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN SPANISH

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Teach, research and participate in the strategic planning and management of teaching and learning;
  • Lead and/or participate in curriculum and faculty development activities within the department, the faculty and the wider university;
  • Contribute to the life of the university and advance teaching, research and community outreach.


Essential Qualifications And Experience:

  • Minimum of a Ph.D. in Spanish with a special focus on Translational Studies (Spanish/English)
  • Possess native or near native competence in the Spanish;
  • Excellent command of English;
  • Demonstrated scholarly research and publications in the areas of Translational Studies, Spanish Language and Culture;
  • At least five (5) years’ experience of teaching in the related areas at the tertiary level.


Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:

  • Knowledge of French Language;
  • Experience supervising MPhil/PhD students;
  • Evidence of prior grant acquisition;
  • Evidence of curriculum development (face to face and distant delivery modes);
  • Administrative experience within an academic institution;
  • Certificate in University Teaching;
  • Evidence of contribution to the Public Service OR field of study.
