LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN SURGERY (Neurosurgery)

Applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
• A postgraduate degree in Surgery
• Relevant teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Surgery
• A demonstrated record of scholarly research
Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:
• A proven record of high-quality teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Experience supervising postgraduate students in operative surgery
• Completion of Fellowship training
• Administrative experience within an academic institution
• Documented evidence of contribution to public service OR significant impact in the field of study.
The successful candidate will be required to:
• Teach, conduct research and actively participate in the strategic planning and management of teaching and learning, including curricula development within the Department and wider Faculty.
• Contribute to the academic life of the University and to advance its mission through teaching, research and community outreach.
• Deliver lectures and engage in academic instruction at both the undergraduate and post graduate levels.
• Supervise and mentor postgraduate students, particularly in the clinical and operative aspects of surgical training
• Establish and maintain a robust research programme in their area of specialization, contributing to the body of scholarly work in the field.
• Participate in outreach activities at the Department, Faculty, Campus and University level, supporting the institution’s commitment to community engagement.
