Graduation Photographs

The photographs taken at the 2008 Graduation ceremonies are now available and may be collected at the Public Relations Office during working hours Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until Friday, January 31, 2009Thereafter photographs may be collected at Spauldings Photos located at Suite #26, Banana Board Building, 10 South Avenue, Kingston 4.

Closure of the Mona Campus for New Year Holiday

The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus wishes to advise that all administrative offices and teaching departments will be closed from 12.30 pm on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, 2008 until Friday, January 2, 2009 when regular operations resume at 8:30 am.

The library hours (Main, Science and Medical) will be revised during the holiday period as follows:

Closure of the Mona Campus for the Christmas/New Year holidays

The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus wishes to advise that all administrative offices and teaching departments will be closed from 12.30 pm on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2008 until Monday, December 29, 2008 when regular business hours i.e. 8:30 am to 4:30 pm will resume. Offices will again be closed on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 12:30 pm and then reopen for normal operations on Friday, January 2, 2009.

The library hours will be revised during the holiday period as follows:

Local Governance and Intergovernmental Relations Conference

“Local Governance and Intergovernmental Relations: Examining the Past, Assessing the Present and Predicting the Future” is the theme of the conference being hosted by Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) and the Department of Government, UWI, Mona on January 8-9, 2009.

The Conference seeks to provide a forum for discussing theoretic and empirical developments in local governance in the hemisphere; expose management innovations in urban and local development and serve as an arena for policy learning.

60th Anniversary Scholarships

Nine graduate students will be awarded scholarships on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 3 pm at the Council Room at the Award of the 60th Anniversary Mona Scholarships. Six scholarships are offered for the Mona Campus 60th Anniversary scholarship to mark the six decades of the University’s establishment.

“Perspectives in Caribbean Psychology”

“Perspectives in Caribbean Psychology” is the title of the book being launched by the Caribbean Institute of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (CARIMENSA) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of the West Indies, Mona on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:30 am at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre.

The Caribbean Institute of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (CARIMENSA) in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of the West Indies, Mona will host the launch of the book “Perspectives in Caribbean Psychology” on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 10:30 am at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre.
