The department provides laboratory diagnostic services in the subspecialties of bacteriology, virology, immunology, mycology and parasitology. Our main client is the University Hospital of the West Indies; however, the department also provides service to several private laboratories and private healthcare providers.

• Bacteriology: Bacterial cultures, serology and antimicrobial sensitivity testing
• Virology: Viral cultures, and serology, rapid diagnostic tests
• Parasitology: Microscopy, culture and antigen detection
• Mycology: Fungal cultures and serology
• Immunology: Serological diagnosis of infectious and non-infectious diseases
• Molecular: Diagnosis of infectious and non-infectious diseases
