The UWI Mona has embarked on a mission to focus on its core quality of interconnectedness in its educational offerings through a UWI For You Virtual Expo! Organized for prospective undergraduate and graduate students, parents and the public, the Virtual event invites everyone to explore the educational metaverse on March 24, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm. With multiple interconnected geographical campuses, learning environments, learning modalities and a degree that facilitates cross border and cross career application, one could argue that The UWI is and has always been our Metaverse of Education!

Metaverse is a virtual world populated by avatars who interact with each other through games as well as have experiences of things and activities in the real world. Like a metaverse, The UWI has been connecting students throughout the region and the world in different learning environments and modalities in an effort to prepare them for the world of work, whether it is through the path of entrepreneurship or gainful employment.

Hosted by Miss Kitty, the UWI For You Virtual Expo activities will include a series of faculty engagements that will allow students to interact with the offerings of the faculties in a new and exciting way by using TikTok. Additionally, the event will host panel discussions outlining the interconnected nature of a UWI degree and how it is positioned to propel students perusing a tertiary education in the modern world.  Further, attendees will be able to pose questions on video or in the chat; they will also be able to leave comments with the live chat feature. Toward the end of the information sessions for undergraduates, students will vote for the best interactive TikTok presentation.

Entertainment breaks will take place throughout the evening with the Vibes in Five sessions where virtual patrons will be treated to performances by popular local acts.

All students and members of the public can register to join the UWI For YOU Expo on March 24, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm by logging on to or registering directly at . Attendees can also view the proceedings on our YouTube channel: UWI Mona Media and Zoom.
