School of Education Child Assessment and Treatment of Exceptionalities (SOECATE) Unit

The Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education Fund (CHASE) was established to facilitate the distribution of funds in five defined areas of national life; Culture, Health, Arts, Sport and Early Childhood Education. Of the total received the Fund commits 25% of its resources to the development of the Early Childhood sector.

In keeping with its mandate, the CHASE Fund is pleased to support the School of Education’s Centre for the Assessment and Treatment of Exceptionalities (SOECATE).

The Fund’s contribution to the project will ensure the identification of special learning needs of students within the regular classroom setting who are at risk for failure; the development of appropriate programmes and services to address the deficiencies; and training for teachers to maximize the potential of these students.
