Profile: 

An anthropologist, qualitative health researcher and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. She conducts research and publishes in the areas of health, particularly chronic illnesses such as HIV, diabetes and sickle cell disease, sexualities, and identities in Jamaica and the Caribbean diaspora. She is co-founder of Beyond Homophobia, the biennial UWI conference that explores the lives of queer people in the Caribbean from an academic, activist and artistic perspective. She is also co-editor with Dr Erin MacLeod of the multiple award-winning volume, Beyond Homophobia: Centering LGBTQ Experiences in the Anglophone Caribbean (2020, UWI Press).
