World Radio Day was proclaimed in 2011 by the UNESCO General Conference and first observed in 2012 to honor the significance of radio in our lives and its contribution to societal development.

This year CARIMAC is hosting a discussion with broadcasters guided by the theme; "Radio Reimagined: Careers, Creativity, and Conversation".

Veteran broadcasters will share their journey in broadcasting, memorable on-air experiences and thoughts on the future of the medium.

Radio has played an instrumental role in fostering communication, education, and public awareness for over a century, it continues to adapt and thrive in the digital age.

World Radio Day reminds us of the resilience of this medium in connecting communities, promoting freedom of expression, and acting as a lifeline during emergencies and disasters.
