Course Aims: 

Wireless networking is being applied in many areas such as health, defense, and business. This course offers students the opportunity to learn about wireless networks and protocols for use in wireless networks. Topics covered include the evolution of wireless networking, signal propagation in wireless networks, MAC protocols for wireless networks, mobile IP, mobile TCP, and Next Generation Networking.

  • Evolution of wireless networking
  • Wireless networking technologies, wireless transmission, signals, antennas and spread spectrum
  • Wireless network MAC protocols
  • Wireless network routing protocols
  • Mobile IP
  • Mobile TCP
  • Future Networking and Next Generation Networks
Course Assessment: 
  • Final Exam (3-hours long)     50%
  • Coursework (In-course exam, projects, presentations)     50%

Students will be required to pass both the coursework and the final examination to pass the course.
