Course Code:
EPNG2110
Level:
Level 2
Credits:
3
Semester:
Semester 1
Programme:
Electrical Power Engineering

This course continues from EPNG1210 electrical machines 1 and examines the theory, characteristics, construction, operation and application of electromechanical energy conversion systems (electrical machines). The mechanical and electrical operational principles of synchronous generators and motors, and induction motors in single-phase and three phase systems will be explored. The application of these electromechanical systems to the design and operation of special purpose machines, such as stepper motors, servomechanisms and pumps will be discussed. Read more
