Clinical evidence to support montelukast in humans with postinfectious cough (PIC) is lacking. This current review aims to assess the efficacy and safety of montelukast in the treatment of PIC through a systematic review of all available randomized controlled trials.

Objectives: To systematically assess the efficacy and safety of montelukast for postinfectious cough (PIC) and to propose a recommendation via a systematic review of all available randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
