Pages:

Synopsis:
This randomized controlled trial was conducted to assess the therapeutic efficacy of a non-pharmacological device, pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF), in the treatment of back pain. Patients who were treated with PEMF plus medications had a statistically significantly faster pain relief and resumption of active functions when compared with patients who were treated with only standard medications. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy is beneficial in reducing pain and disability in patients with back pain and should be made part of holistic care for back pain.
