Fine-needle-aspiration (FNA) Cytology for SRC Type Breast Cancer: 13 Case Reports

Synopsis: 
This study estimated the nature of SRCs in different histological subtype of breast cancer in department of Ultrasound Diagnosis, the affiliated hospital of Qingdao University, Qingdao, China. It was indicated that its presence may not indicate poor prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the cytohistological findings of 13 breast carcinoma cases with SRCs

Methods: From January 2006 to August 2015, 13 cases of SRC type breast cancer had undergone FNA cytology examination before excisional biopsy or operation. All the histological sections of each case were confirmed to have at least 20% SRCs in the tumor cells. The clini­copathological features of SRC type breast cancer were investigated.
