Professor James Robertson, F.R.Hist.S. is a past President of both the Archaeological Society of Jamaica and the Jamaica Historical Society. He is the author of _"Gone is the Ancient Glory!": Spanish Town 1532-2000_ (Kingston: Ian Randle, 2005) and _History Without Historians: Listening for Stories of Jamaica's Past_ (Kingston: Arawak Publishers, in press) and is writing on Oliver Cromwell's Western Design and its consequences. He has written on English and Jamaican history, including archives, the Chinese in Jamaica, creole architecture, historical stories, Jamaica's historical botany and James Bond. He is a member Boards of the Jamaica National Heritage Trust and the National Museum of Jamaica as well as the National Archives Committee.
