Every year on 8 June, the United Nations celebrate World Oceans Day to raise awareness of the important role it plays in our lives. This year’s World Oceans Day theme – life and livelihoods – focuses on the importance of the ocean for all life on Earth and sheds light on the changing oceans. As the largest ecosystem on the planet, the world’s ocean is a pillar of climate regulation and a powerful source of solutions to the changing climate.
