MITS delivers state of the art E-mail facilities that provide instant access to mail from the desktop to mobile clients. It offers access to E-mail contacts, tasks, and appointments, from anywhere in the world. The platform on which this service runs is called MICROSOFT EXCHANGE.

The naming convention for UWI, Mona staff email addresses is firstname.lastname@uwimona.edu.jm with the suffix 02, 03, etc. added if there is a duplicate account on the system.

All UWI staff accounts have been migrated to MONA Xchange. Once on staff, each user is supplied with an E-mail address that gives access to a 2 GB E-mail account. Once the 2 GB mailbox is full, no messages will be received until space is made available in the mailbox through archiving or deletion. Therefore, users are fully expected to manage their E-mail mailboxes. 

E-mail accounts for students were previously provided using the Campus Pipeline portal. All accounts have been migrated to a new platform called LIVE@EDU. This provides students with access to Calendars and mobile E-mail. The naming convention is firstname.lastname@mymona.uwi.edu with the suffix 02, 03, etc. added if there is a duplicate account on the system.
