early notice of the regulations governing registration and the payment of fees for the 2024-2025 academic
year. It is our sincere hope that you will use this advanced notice to put proper financial arrangements in place
to minimize any undue interruptions to your studies.
The following will be the regulations governing registration and the payment of fees for the 2024-2025
academic year:

Mona Campus Closure - Hurricane Beryl Update

Dear Faculty/Staff and Students:

Your safety is our top priority. Below are some critical information regarding the
operation of our campus over the next 24-48 hours.

Due to the impending threat of Hurricane Beryl, the Mona campus will be closed on
Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 1pm and all day on Wednesday July 3, 2024. We will
continue to take directives from The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency
Management (ODPEM) to update all key stakeholders.

Dr Floyd Morris, the Director of The UWI Centre for Disability Studies, has been promoted to the position of Professor of Disability Studies and Politics and Dr Karen Carpenter, the Head of the Institute for Gender and Development Studies at The UWI Mona Campus, has been promoted to the position of Professor of Gender, Sexuality and Psychology. The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at The University of the West Indies, Mona (The UWI, Mona) has collaborated with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (5C's), the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF), the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation (MEGJC) and the PJ Patterson Institute for Africa-Caribbean Advocacy to host a workshop under the theme Caribbean Climate: Detection and Attribution Science Workshop. The workshop is scheduled for June 10-14, 2024 on the grounds of the Mona Campus.
