Eligibility:

Available to Jamaican Nationals who have successfully completed all level I courses leading to the bachelor's degree with a major in Library & Information Studies.

Criteria:

The award will be based on:

high academic performance with at least a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.30 from the previous academic year;
verifiable financial need;
an indication of commitment to profession by being a member of the Jamaica Library Association, among other things;
demonstrated interest in the profession.

Method of Selection:

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a committee comprising The UWI and donor personnel.

Condition:

Successful candidates will be required, upon graduation, to become an active member of the Jamaica Library Association by volunteering to serve one of its working parties for at least one year.
