Eligibility:

The award is available to Jamaican Nationals under 25 years of age registered in any Faculty of Engineering. Recipients must be in Second or Third Year of study and pursuing BSc. in any area of Engineering “EXCLUDING” Biomedical Engineering at the UWI, Mona campus.

Criteria:

The award will be based on:

Academic performance based on the results of the previous year University examinations (minimum GPA of 3.0);
Verifiable financial need;
Active participation in extracurricular activities;
Demonstrates leadership qualities, volunteerism and social involvement.

Method of Selection:

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel consisting of representatives from UWI Development and Endowment Fund.

The following terms and conditions apply:

The recipient must continue to meet all the established criteria to qualify for subsequent award. [Only applies for awards that have tenure of more than 1 year.]
Participation in facility tours, meetings and other forms of engagement with sponsor.
Volunteer service requirements.
Other***Forfeiture of award in the event the terms and conditions of the award of the scholarship are breached or student is the subject of disciplinary action by UWI, Mona.***

Special Requirements:

The recipient of this award will:

Be available for a photo opportunity and provide written testimony on the usefulness of the assistance granted.
Be available to participate in any official ceremony related to the formal presentation of the scholarship award.
