Welcome to the Office of Strategic Planning and Enterprise Management (OSPEM)

At OSPEM, we serve as the “Command Centre” for driving the energy and coordination behind strategic planning and execution at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona Campus. Our mission is to act as the central hub supporting and delivering strategic and operational excellence, ensuring the Campus achieves its transformative goals.

We specialize in managing and monitoring key strategic and corporate planning efforts, including implementing core initiatives, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and leading risk and compliance management. From safety and emergency management to spearheading Operation RTG, a critical enabler of the Campus’ strategic direction. OSPEM is integral to fostering innovation, sustainability, and success.

What We Do

OSPEM is dedicated to:

  • Overseeing risk and compliance, including safety and emergency management.
  • Leading Operation RTG, a flagship initiative for restructuring, transformation, and growth.

Our Units

Planning and Institutional Research Unit

Provides evidence-based insights and performance dashboards to inform decision-making and track Campus health.

Strategic Project Unit

Drives strategic initiatives, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with the Campus’ transformative goals.

Safety and Emergency Management Unit

Leads emergency response planning and public safety efforts to protect life, property, and continuity of operations.

Campus Security Unit

Ensures a safe and secure environment through comprehensive security programs and collaboration with Mona Police.
