Future Proofing Our Campus - Strengthening Our Processes
The UWI Senior Management team convened a pivotal retreat on January 9 & 10, 2025, to chart a progressive path for the Operation RTG initiative as well as the broader organizational framework. From the retreat, Senior Management has adopted a new organizational design that puts greater focus on student success, research and innovation - the core business of the academy. Furthermore, the retreat also agreed to a template for redesign of business processes which will see greater efficiency in the way the organization serves its students and staff. These major recommendations are now being finalized by the consultants after which they will be discussed at the major governance meetings of the campus and the university with the aim of getting approval for full implementation during the first quarter of the calendar year.
Three Pillars of Progress
- Accountability: Strengthening systems to foster transparency and responsibility across all levels of the institution.
- Operational Efficiency: Streamlining processes to create a seamless experience for staff, students, and stakeholders.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Enhancing our capacity to utilize data for informed, impactful decisions
Adapting to Changing Times
These changes are not just about efficiency, they are about future- proofing and creating a University that
is in tune with the times. By aligning our systems and procedures with current and emerging needs, we aim to meet and exceed the expectations of our stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.
Leadership Through Research and Communication
At the heart of this organizational and process flow redesign, is a commitment to enhanced teaching, research, communication, and operational excellence. Operation RTG is a critical step in ensuring that our campus not only thrives in the present but remains resilient and impactful for years to come –making the change today, for tomorrow.
