Many small states have identified green policies as a means of adapting to the effects of climate change, as well as developing competitive advantages. This article incorporates the concept of green economy into a model of a small open economy. Using system dynamics, the analysis identifies the benefits in terms of productivity and examines the extent to which greening the economy reduces both environmental and economic vulnerabilities of small states.
