The UWI Mona Pelican Junior team began their quest for glory in the 2012 JNA Division League Competition with an exciting match up against Friendship Netball Club. The team had a rocky start as the girls took some time in finding their rhythm but they successfully held off the opposing side with a nail biting 33-32 win. The team captained by Kaysia Brown has been in training camp from last summer and Brown states that the fitness level of the team has increased since previous years. She states that despite their performance in the opening match for the season that the girls are well prepared and are eager to perform.
The UWI Pelicans Senior Team will get into action next week and is also seeking to secure the Championship Title in the JNA Super League competiton.
