UWI's Hansle Parchment smashes 110m hurdles record at 2012 Gibson Relays

The UWI Mona Track & Field Team secured two gold medals at the 2012 staging of the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium.


UWI Scholarship and athlete and World University champion, Hansle Parchment, secured the first gold medal performance when he stopped the clock at 13.97secs in win the 110m hurdles.


The other gold medal was secured by the men’s medley relay team after they brushed aside competition from Swept Track Club, Racers Track Club and UTECH. The team was comprised of scholarship athletes Nicholas Maitland, Dwayne Ferguson, Leon Wray and Jowayne Hibbert and they stopped the clock at 3:18.99, bettering the 3:19.44 done by SWEPT Track Club last year.


The male 4*100m relay team produced a credible performance when they were placed 5th in the finals of the men’s 4*100m relays final, behind arch rivals Racers, MVP and Swept Track Club.
