It has been a challenging season for the UWI Hockey teams, however both male and female squads have extended time and effort in tackling each challenge head on with the goal of becoming the ultimate championship titleholders. With each setback the teams have pushed harder to receive positive results in their following matchups and that mentality has paid off significantly for the male squad. The Pelican males went up against opponents GC Foster College at the Mona Astro Turf where captain Brandon Patterson and Jerome Carty played an excellent game leading to an inevitable 3-1 win, propelling the team into the 2012 Intercollegiate Championship Finals.

The female squad played a very good season but ended their journey in the semi final round in third place. The former champions are reflecting on their season and are already looking at the areas where they can improve for the upcoming season. They now seek to support their male counterparts in the final matchup against longtime rivals UTECH Knights on March 5,2012.
