UWI Pelican leads Jamaica Team to World University Netball Championship in South Africa

Pelicans Trishell Williams, Mallysha Kelly and Shadian Hemmings departed the Island on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 for Cape Town South Africa to participate in the World University Netball Championship endorsed by the Jamaica Intercollegiate Sports Association (JISA). The Championship is schedule to run from July 2-7, 2012.

Williams who was selected to captain the team on this Jamaica's first time entering the championship was elated for having been given the opportunity. "We are ready, we are going to win." She lamented. The Jamaica 17 member contingent includes 12 players and five officials.

Winners say it may be difficult but it is possible, see the gain, see the possibilities and they make it happen.
