UWI demolished Olympic Gardens FC to jump to third position in JFF/Sherwin Williams Female Football Competition

Under the directorship of Coach Dwayne Richards the UWI female football team yesterday sent a warning to the other clubs in the 2012 JFF/Sherwin Williams Female Football Competition when the demolished Olympic Gardens FC 4-0 on their home ground. The Pelicans were off to a rocket start courtesy of a cracker from Vanessa Ramsay within the first 10 minutes of the first half. The Goal set the precedence for UWI's domination of the game; Scholarship athlete Sherona Forrester would soon add her two goals to the match statistics before UWI exited the field with a 3-0 lead at half time.

Whatever Coach Richards said to the ladies in the locker room must have inspired UWI's fourth goal that came Substitute Mauricesha Morgan just minutes after she took to the field. The victory sent the UWI Pelicans right up the table to third position.

The Pelicans will next tackle Portmore Strikers FC in the Sherwin Williams color scape knock out competition on Saturday, July 21, 2011 at Racing Oval, Portmore.

We wish the ladies all the best as they continue to show their Pelican Pride.
