Does the Dıfferent Type of Pulmonary Hypertensıon Cause the Same Effect on Rıght Heart and Serum Asymmetrıcal Dımethylargınıne Levels ın Female Patıents?

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.319
Synopsis:
We aimed to evaluate if different type of PH cause the same effect on right heart functions and serum asymmetric dimethylarginine levels in female patients. In our study we found that PAH caused more impaired right heart functions than PVH.

Endothelial Dysfunction in Primary Sjögren Syndrome

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2012.039
Pages:
870–2
Synopsis:
In this study, we aimed to investigate endothelial functions in primary Sjögren syndrome. Although carotid intima-media thickness values were similar, flow mediated dilatation of the brachial artery was disrupted in patients with Sjögren syndrome compared to healthy controls.

ABSTRACT

Objective: In this study, we aimed to investigate endothelial functions in primary Sjögren syndrome.

Methods: Thirty-five patients with primary Sjögren syndrome and 20 age and sex-matched healthy volunteers were recruited to the present study. Flow mediated dilatation of brachial artery and carotid intima-media thickness were measured in the study population.
