Flow Mediated Vasodilation and some Biomarkers of Endothelial Activation in Pre-hypertensive Objects

DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2015.033
Synopsis:
The goal of the study is to assess endothelial activation by FMD and ADMA, sICAM and sVCAM levels in pre-Hypertensive objects. Compared to intima-media thickness, these data are going to be evaluated as an eventual predicators of pre-hypertensive objects. Compared to intima-media thickness, these data were to be evaluated as eventual predicators of pre-hypertension.

Endothelial Dysfunction in Primary Sjögren Syndrome

Issue:
DOI:
10.7727/wimj.2012.039
Pages:
870–2
Synopsis:
In this study, we aimed to investigate endothelial functions in primary Sjögren syndrome. Although carotid intima-media thickness values were similar, flow mediated dilatation of the brachial artery was disrupted in patients with Sjögren syndrome compared to healthy controls.

ABSTRACT

Objective: In this study, we aimed to investigate endothelial functions in primary Sjögren syndrome.

Methods: Thirty-five patients with primary Sjögren syndrome and 20 age and sex-matched healthy volunteers were recruited to the present study. Flow mediated dilatation of brachial artery and carotid intima-media thickness were measured in the study population.
